After reading and re-reading my sister's story (so many times, I've lost count!) a thought occurred to me...

"What if the length of separation between John and Helena had been greater... especially for one of them?! "

And naturally, once that thought was in my head, a story began to unfold. The story you are about to read is the result.

And as with all the Space: 1999 stories posted on this site, I have not written it entirely alone. Monica has had a big hand in how this story progressed. Which only makes sense, as it is based on her original idea. She has been instrumental in not only keeping me on track, but her suggestions, ideas and encouragements have helped me immeasurably. This would be a much different story if not for her.

So, it is with the utmost love and affection that this story is undoubtedly dedicated to my sister, Monica.
